Alexandre de Cabanyes Marquès (1877-1972) was a prototypical modernist, in 1900 and 1901 he moved to Paris, where he spent two years with Xavier Nogués on the Boulevard Saint Germain. In 1904, he had his first exhibition at the Sala Parés and had a total of 40 individual exhibitions. He stood out as a painter of landscapes, especially seascapes, in the luminous line of Sorolla, although his portraits are also highly appreciated.
