Aurelio Toloso Alsina (Barcelona 1861-1938) was formed in the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Jorge of his native city. He was a disciple of Modesto Urgell, a reference of the time. He stood out from his youth for his technique and inspiration, specializing in landscape and floral themes. He became known in a modernist and noucentista historical context. He became very popular at the peninsular level and was present in many exhibitions and competitions at the state level, in which he used to be awarded. Some of the most outstanding were: General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Barcelona in 1894; honorable mention in the National Fine Arts of 1897, 1901 and 1904; National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1930, several exhibitions in the famous Sala Parés in Barcelona or the Sala Busquets in Paseo de Gracia.
